On Tuesday, July 6, there will be yet another chance to gather details about proposed changes that would affect more than half of Forest Park’s property owners.

At a special meeting of the zoning board of appeals, Village Administrator Tim Gillian will brief the zoning board members on proposals to reform Forest Park’s zoning code in order to ease some of the burdens on owners of nonconforming properties, mostly two flats.

No action will be taken at this meeting, Gillian said.

“Many members of the zoning board are new to that committee,” Gillian said. “So all I’m doing is kind of rolling out all of the information that the village has come across with all of the other forums that we’ve had.”

Gillian said that he wants to make sure the newer members of the zoning board are up to speed on the issues before they formally consider the proposed amendments to the zoning code at a later meeting.

This special meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the room on the lower level of village hall, at 517 DesPlaines. The zoning board regularly meets at 7 p.m. the third Monday of every month.
