A car that caught fire Sunday night on the Eisenhower Expressway was charred down to its frame after being engulfed in flames for a short period of time.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, according to Fire Chief Steve Glinke, who was on scene. And presently, few details are available. The chief did say that no one was hurt, though, and that the car burned rather quickly.

The vehicle was in the eastbound side of Interstate-290, between Desplaines Avenue and 1st Avenue, in the southernmost lane.
