Lucas Vaughn Rosa, 27, died on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026 near his home in Chicago. He was 27 years old. Born in Chicago, his family moved to Forest Park when he was 2 years old. He attended Forest Park Public Schools and Proviso Math and Science Academy. He was an active and imaginative child who spent hours in our local parks and was known by family and friends for his elaborate Halloween and Christmas displays.

Lucas was driven and determined. A lifelong artist and figure skater, he never gave up one passion for another. Immediately after graduating from Adrian College with a degree in interior design, he was hired to open a new showroom for BauTeam in the Merchandise Mart where he continued his passion for design. Most recently, he was awarded 1st place Kitchen at the NKBA Designer Showcase and was selected for their Thirty Designers Under 30 Class of 2025.

While working as a showroom manager and designer he also continued coaching young figure skaters in his spare time at Ridgeland Common Ice Arena in Oak Park. He adored his students and the entire skating community.

Instilled with a love of travel from a young age by road trips with his family, he was an adventurer. In recent years he visited locations around the world, including Spain, Croatia, Greece, and the Galápagos Islands. He was joined on these adventures by the love of his life, Connor Ott. They were married on Sept. 5, 2026 at a beautiful ceremony in Door County, Wisconsin where they were surrounded by family and friends.

Lucas is survived by his husband, Connor Ott, and their fur babies, Winston and Hera; his parents, Colleen and Rafael Rosa; his brother, Ethan (Parker Blunt) Rosa; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Ruben and Dora Rosa and Robert and Jean Vaughn, and his uncle, George Vaughn.

In lieu of flowers please consider a gift in his name to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, an event Lucas participated in many times in honor of his grandmother, Jean.
