Halloween trick-or-treaters in Forest Park will have four and a half hours to go door-to-door and scoop up sweets of all sorts this evening.

Ghosts, goblins, witches and warlocks can visit homes from 3 to 7:30 p.m., according to village officials. Village Secretary Sally Cody said those hours were long ago designated as the official trick-or-treat time. This is likely because it’s still light out during much of that time, she said.

Mayor Anthony Calderone reminded residents at last week’s council meeting that Police Chief Jim Ryan’s officers will be out patrolling the streets to make sure the trick-or-treaters are safe.
