TBT: Soap Box on Circle
Shortly after the Congress Expressway was completed, Forest Parkers had a new bridge to connect the north and south side of town. Cub Scout Packs 104 and Pack 105 took advantage of the new bridge making way for racing. The first Soap Box Derby in Forest Parkwas held in 1961.
Recently the Kiwanis Club, with support from the Village, Commmunity Center, Park District and many supporters, have brought back the Soap Box Derby. The Greater Chicago Soap Box Derby santions the races now in town and kids are registering now for the June 2016 race.
