After president Woodrow Wilson suffered a stroke in 1919, his wife Edith Wilson began to handle the day-to-day responsibilities of the executive office. Author William Hazelgrove will present a portrait of the first woman to become acting president of the United States from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on March 13 at the Forest Park Public Library, 7555 Jackson Blvd.

St. Patrick’s Day
Join the traveling seniors of Forest Park and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on March 13 with a trip to the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate for corned beef, a bagpiper and drum performance and music from The Chicago Irish Band. Then head to Good Earth Greenhouse for coffee, a sweet treat and more. Residents $88; non-residents $92, with meal included. Reservations required.
