Sharing and caring for a good cause is a staple in Forest Park. Forest Park Firefighter- Paramedics donated $400 to the Forest Park Food Pantry as part of the “Needy Family Thanksgiving and Christmas Drive” lead by Cindy Lyons, Director of the Mohr Community Center.
A cooperative effort between several other village organizations such as the Kiwanis Club, the Forest Park Food pantry, churches and schools, in order to give everyone the chance to have a joyful holiday season, was led by the central hub, the Community Center. In addition, residents could fill out an application at the center and be on the list for Thanksgiving distribution and Christmas distribution.
In addition to collecting food, toys and clothing the Community Center raised $12,000 that year in order to purchase the items that are not received through donations. Deliveries were made the days before Thanksgiving and Christmas.
