In 1999 the Krader-Wolf Brothers furniture store, at 7312 Madison St. (the corner of Madison and Circle, present day Forest Park Tap) closed after 107 years in business.
Wolf Brothers was originally a dry good business on Madison Street and their ads creatively reassured customers that “a Wolf will greet you at the door,” with a friendly wolf drawn in the middle of the ad.
In 1960, Alfred Krader purchased the business, renovated the space and reopened with the hyphenated name. The stained-glass Wolf Brothers sign that once was over the westside doors was donated to the Historical Society of Forest Park in 2016 when the fragile window was removed for restoration and conservation.
