We are pleased to present the latest Forest Park Community Guide. Published annually by the Forest Park Review in partnership with the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce, this guide contains a wealth of information on just about everything you need to know about Forest Park.

Located just ten miles west of downtown Chicago, Forest Park is a vibrant, active, diverse community with an urban vibe, small-town charm and a rich history. The cooperative spirit and civic pride shared between residents, business owners and local government gives Forest Park a genuine, time-honored sense of community.

Madison Street’s mix of independently owned shops, eateries and service businesses offer something for everyone. From boutiques, antiques and handmade gifts to cooking classes, spa services, an escape room and more…you’ll find just about anything you need in downtown Forest Park. Local eateries throughout town offer a variety of dining options to please every palate. Enjoy authentic Italian or Mexican fare, wood-fired pizzas and the best French onion soup in the area, or grab breakfast or a burger from an old-fashioned diner. Satisfy your sweet tooth with cookies with a twist and handcrafted ice cream made in house.

There’s an artist on nearly every corner, and the Forest Park Arts Alliance brings people together through the joy of art. Maker’s Markets, Garage Galleries, Tellers’ Nights, stoop sessions and more are just some of the art experiences waiting for you in Forest Park.

Unique events, recreational opportunities and a generous choice of housing options make Forest Park a great place to live, work, shop, dine and play. The Aquatic Center is top notch, and the park district along with the local library and community center, have programs, classes and events for young and old alike. Community events like the ‘best in the west’ St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Holiday Walk, Rib Fest and Wine Walk & Shop provide fun for all ages.

An abundance of history will interest even the most serious history buff. Join The Haymarket Martyrs’ Monument and Radical Row Tour, or a check out some of the historically significant gravesites through a virtual cemetery tour. Don’t forget to visit the 16” Softball Hall of Fame Museum.
