After listening to an update from Paul Barbahem, chair of the Forest Park Historic Preservation Committee, village council members instructed Barbahem to begin drafting proposed preservation ordinances and report back to the council.
All public money is tax money
Let’s start by stating that this newspaper is all in favor of local government bodies being active participants in national organizations which further their missions. More specifically, we are fans of the Forest Park Park District sending representatives of its top staff and its board to the annual convention of the National Recreation and Park Association.
Sometimes babies just make life easier
Although it’s much harder to write this column holding a crying baby, to my surprise some things are easier to do while holding a baby. By the time this column is published, I will have had two full months of conducting my business, grocery shopping and doing household chores carrying a small person with me. It makes me wonder how much nicer the world would be if we all treated each other as nicely as people treat a stranger with a newborn.
